I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see this movie, and I’ve gotten promises of at least 30 people that they’ll be going to the Orlando show!

… Darren, if we sell out Orlando, can ASH come too? … please? ;)

  5. Hey, for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have even known of REPO!’s existence if ASH hadn’t been in it. So thanks for giving me something to obsess over for the past few months. XD

  7. I’ve been promoting too. >D
I’m just running around tell everyone the website, and the movie and explaining it to them.
    People are EXCITED.
I suggest people to carry a sharpie with them so they can scrawl the website on other people’s hands hassle-free. 8D

  12. I love Tony Head. Be a fan of his singing since way back in 1991, when he was in the Rocky Horror Show.
So can’t wait for the movie. Please bring it to UK/Europe

    Comment by Alison Newton — October 19, 2008 @ 1:45 am

  13. I friggen loved this movie and find myself telling everyone about it and they all want to see it. I feel like seeing it just once is not enough, and its been awhile since I’ve said that.

You’ve got to get this on a wider release, it’s just too brilliant to only be shown at a handful of theatres. I’m so glad I got to see it at the After Dark Film Festival in Toronto where the film was made.

    Comment by Brian Finch — October 20, 2008 @ 6:51 pm

  14. I’m a huge fan of Tony Head’s and I can’t wait to see this movie! :-) I’ve been telling all my friends and sending out messages on lots of lists to get the word out. We’re hoping to have a packed house here in Portland.

Need to go order the soundtrack now… yeah, now I’ll have three cd’s with Tony singing. ;-)

    Comment by Tammy Joy — October 20, 2008 @ 8:53 pm

  15. Im SO glad Tony Head did one of these. Just like a previous poster ive been a fan since buffy season 1, and I never would have known about this movie had I not gone onto his IMDB page and stumbled onto this movie.

  16. 21. I have to say I just saw Repo The Genetic Opera yesterday in New York - I took a special trip out and OMG! I am sooooo glad I did.

THIS MOVIE ROCKS! I 100% LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie. It has been a very Looooooooooooong time since I’ve liked a musical this much. My mother used to drill me over, and over and over and over again with the classic movie musicals, so it is a rarity to love a musical for me because I do tend to over critique it them - I mean even Sweeney Todd I had some eye rolling let me fast forward this moments. But with REPO, NONE! I Love the kick ass music, LOVE Terrance Zdunich’s voice, Anthony Stewart Head was a complete Bonus, Love Sarah Brightman. The most original, great cinemaphotography, great story! so I can stop my most positive rant, I recommend going to see this if it is near you!

PLEASE come to Philly, since I want to see it again!

    Comment by Michele — November 9, 2008 @ 7:47 am

  22. Please tell you’re going to release in more theaters! You’re leaving almost the entire East Coast off the gameplan! New York and Philly…why not DC?

    Comment by Noah — November 11, 2008 @ 6:54 pm

  23. Repo! The Genetic Opera is great…like REALLY great. Unfortunately, the showing I attended in KCK was part of the Repo! Road Tour, so I won’t be able to enjoy it again for a while.

My friend and I stuck around for the Q&A w/ Director, Darren Lynn Bousman, and co-writer/actor, Terrance Zdunich. They explained how Repo! wasn’t in theaters nationwide because Lionsgate thought is wasn’t mainstream enough. Riduculous. I think people try to stereotype Repo! as a film for the gothic, animation buffs, and drama/musical lovers. I don’t like to think of myself as part of the “mainstream” (who does?), but the Lionsgate reps, if having met us, would probably have no problem declaring us just that. My friend is a college cheerleader, I’m a sorority dropout (a “greek-life” dropout, not college dropout). We loved it. So go ahead..stereotype us–this is the one time I’ll let you–stereotype me as a “mainstreamed victim-of-suburbia”..for the film’s sake.

Scratch that. Just let me know if you need me to have a sit down with Lionsgate myself.

  24. OMG, after watching the Repo trailer and how cool it would be for it to come over to Australia, I stumbled upon this and lets just say…. I was shocked and surprised all wrapped into one.

  29. Darren, saw the film in Chandler. You may remember I was the guy who asked “how’d you get Paris and Sarah”. Loved it.

If you read these personally, I work for GoDaddy.com and would like to do some pro-bono work to help you syndicate more content out on the web for this new cult classic. Awesome, awesome, awesome work big guy. Let me know whats up some time.

  38. hey Darren ive been fallowing you since saw 2 and im my eyes you are one of the best up and coming directors plus ive got like 30 of my friends to buy repo because if you wernt lying on the sequal and prequill im so looking forward to see what other projects your going to work on but you really need to keep up with your transtions that made you famous to me and i know my spelling is bad but still you get the point just keep up you fantabulous work and keep putting out unique work so i don’t get board with movies again thanks for all the hard work to make the most unique movie ive ever seen and i wathc repo like 2 times a day thanks again and i hope you read this and don’t think i’m a quack i was so board with movies up till saw 2 and your spin on the franchise in my eyes you could be the next spelberg

  40. Hey, does anyone know how to get the rights to produce the stage version of Repo? I’d love to do iit at our theatre.

    Comment by K.Dodd — December 15, 2009 @ 3:10 pm

  41. Me and my friends have been spreading the word around Phoenix, AZ, because we love the movie, and it is, in fact, my favorite movie of all time! Congratulations on making such a masterpiece! I’ve watched the movie over, and over (and over) and I cannot get enough of it!

I recently saw an ad while browsing the web and thought it was about your film, but now I don’t think so. [http://www.repomenarecoming.com] If it is based off all of your hard work and determination, then great! It looks like it might get big! HOWEVER. If it is a blatant rip-off, and you are getting no credit or anything, then I will be extremely angry. On that site, I noticed no mention of a “Based on…” or “Originally by…” statement, which makes me think this is all some corporate asshole’s doing.

Can anyone let me know if this is real or if heads should roll? My vote is on blatant, uncrediting ripoff, but I’d like to hear it from the mouths of those involved.

    Comment by Zack — February 4, 2010 @ 1:05 pm

  42. Repo Men the movie must die. I’m rallying a protest. No one’s gonna ripoff my favorite cult movie and get away with it. “What Came First!? The Repo or the Rip off?!”

  43. ohmygod
    i’m an idiot
i just have to say this
not to comment on this vid (sorry)
andi just checked the theater dates
    i missed it!
dang! any chance you’d do another one(puppy dog eyes)…
    yeah didn’t think so hmm
    Cheers!

  44. oh and whoever you are charlotte
i’d rally behind you for the protest
    i heard about repo men
    che! annoyances!
they changed it so the repo needs the organ cause of some accident
and so now he’s on the run i think with a kid
(if it’s his daughter i won’t forgive it)
i might’ve wanted to see the movie if it was the original guys doing it
but you’re right it’s a total rip off!
